We live on a beautiful planet called earth, along with a wide variety of plants, animals and other organisms. Earth is the only known planet that supports life in the entire solar system. Our earth, however, is part of a vast universe. The universe is about 15 to 20 billion years old. The age of the earth is approximately 4 to 5 billion years, while human beings evolved only around 2 million years ago. The earth with its blue skies, vast oceans and lush green forests is the home to wide variety of organisms. It has its own unique atmosphere. If you could dig a deep hole into earth the deeper you go, the hotter it becomes. At the depth of about eight km it is hot enough to roast a human body. About 32 km deep you would reach the part of earth which is called mantle. This is made of hard rock. The centre or core of the earth is approximately 6,400 km from the surface having a temperature close to 5000ÂșC. Almost 70 percent of the surface of the Earth is covered with water. Hence, it is called a blue planet and a unique planet. Earth has an atmosphere containing 20 percent of the oxygen that helps in the survival of living beings. Gases such as oxygen, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen in the Earth’s atmosphere help plants to grow.
To begin with, conditions on earth were inhospitable for life. Gases of the primitive atmosphere were primarily methane, ammonia, carbon dioxide and hydrogen. Water vapour filled the atmosphere but there was no free oxygen. As earth cooled, water vapour condensed to form liquid water. Rains poured to form water bodies on earth. The molecules of life were formed in the water. From the molecules of the life evolved bacteria, the earliest and simplest organisms. For almost two billion years, different kinds of bacteria lived on earth. One of these evolved a green pigment called chlorophyll. These chlorophyll-containing bacteria used carbon dioxide and water and released oxygen through photosynthesis and started accumulating in the atmosphere. Continued photosynthesis by such bacteria progressively accumulated oxygen in the atmosphere. Thus, the atmosphere gradually transformed from reducing to oxidizing. At one point of time oxygen content in the atmosphere become 21%. Such changes served as a big trigger for biological evolution to begin and progress and this led to the invasion of land by living organism. As time passed, protists evolved from bacteria. Both bacteria and protists are unicellular. Then came multicellular organisms, the fungi followed by plants and animals. Today the diversity of living organisms is comprised of five kingdoms of life. Monera, Protoctista, Fungi, Plantae and Animalia.
Earth, a peaceful planet surrounded with water and land. A majestic planet that was once abundant with lakes, rivers, mountains, rain forest, and living creatures known as animals. The environment, ocean, and the atmosphere were free from pollution and contamination. The skies were clear and blue, lakes were clean and clear and uncontaminated. Animals roamed the land, fishes swam freely, birds chirped in the rain forest, and massive whales swam freely in the clear blue ocean. This description of Earth is the true beauty of nature and a gift from Mother Nature. Imagine the Earth free from pollution, disease, and flowing smoothly. A planet was once free from disturbance, until one creature was born and that specific creature that came to life was none other than called Neanderthals. Neanderthals were born with two legs and arms and opposable thumbs. This species could stand on their two legs and carry heavy objects with their muscular arms. And that Beast is Human Being.
He creates. He destroys.
Earth which has very clean and attractive nature full of greenery. Nature is our best friend which provides us all the resources to live here. It gives us water to drink, pure air to breathe, food to eat, land to stay, animals, plants for our other uses, etc for our betterment. We should fully enjoy the nature without disturbing its ecological balance. We should care our nature, make it peaceful, keep it clean and prevent it from the destruction so that we can enjoy our nature forever.
